Jan Baby Shindig logistics
Jan. 11th, 2016 02:54 pmWoo woo the Jan baby shindig is next Monday! And now that all the meetings of last week are (mostly) out of my head, I can take some time to figure it out.
Onesies and other textiles:
-Apparently Goodwill is a good place to start! And then probably Target/Walmart. Correction: Goodwill is not good for blank white onesies. Walmart, on the other hand...
-I think I need about 2-3 "newborn" sized ones, plus about 10x the 0-3 month size and the 3-6 month size. Also: baby socks! And blankets, except that maybe they aren't safe?! (But my brother survived blankets somehow...)
Craft stuff:
- I probably want to set up a few different craft stations -- stamp pads and fabric markers, fabric paints, tying of tie-dye, dying of tie-dye, etc. (Trip to Michaels!)
Other stuff:
-I want some stroller and baby carrier advice, so I should probably get on that, maybe make a game of it??? Oops I bought them already.
---> Rate importance of features on strollers or car seats or diapers?
- Come up with a fun way to share stories?!
---> Maybe lists that people can fill in during idle time, like "that show/movie that they wouldn't stop watching," or "favorite baby book," or "that awkward regret purchase" or "grossest moment"
I should remember to do this:
- Bring big plastic tubs to keep the tie-dye contained. Also: washable fabric marking pens. Also:sharpies to label the tie-dye baggies so that I know who made which one. :) Saran wrap? Plates for paint mixing.
-Buy: zip-lock baggies, plastic gloves for tie-dying purposes. Also: rubber bands.
- Print up some "inspiration" photos for decorating. (I screencapped a bunch today). Also: some baby info images (name options, ultrasounds)
- make some cardboard backing boards to put inside onesies for the stamping/drawing station? (rescue cereal boxes!)
