I have another China comic inked and colored, but pending scanning and the final photoshop polish. But a couple of busy days ahead...
- Tomorrow we'll be field-tripping to the Asian Art Museum! I went up to SF on Saturday to do prep work. Field trips are hard! Not only do you lose the whole day, you also have to prepare material for subs for the classes that you'll be missing. (My 10th graders will be watching Lawrence of Arabia).
- Wednesday night I'll be going up to SF again to attend a special needs simulation. Y'know, where they make like you have dyslexia and stuff. Excitement!
It's the year of the Ox! Yay! 新年快乐, everyone! Jono and I had waaaay too much food with parents and brother last night. There were, like 14 appetizers and 7 main dishes, plus soup and dessert. Craziness! And of course, watching of the 春节联欢晚会. (Although we spent much of that time actually just eating. Did I mention we had lots of food?)
After spending the last 2 weekends with various Connecticut/Boston/Palo Alto family members, I think we're both ready for a quiet weekend next.
I'm glad that Obama seems to be going at his job with gusto. I feel like many people have been surprised that he's seriously trying to fulfill campaign promises. Y'know, promises that we wrote off as "campaign-talk". But that's okay. I'm glad he's not like, "I have come to save all y'all," but is instead just trying to be a good president.
I hope he will maintain good relations with China, because I think China wants to have good economic relations with America, and if these two can stabilize each other, the economic crisis will stabilize, too. But Obama did make campaign promises to keep American jobs in America and all that other good stuff, which would mean pulling back from a relationship with China, which my dad thinks would make China side with Europe.... But maybe not. Stuff at Walmart is still under $10, is all I'm sayin'.
