Apr. 11th, 2005 01:57 amWell, a few weeks after acquiring this iBook, I must admit that I'm not a full mac convert. There are some nice points, yes, but the PC is cool, too. For example, definitely bigger fan of the start menu vs. dock. Or even better would be something the combines the organizational functions of the start menu with the customizability of the dock. Semagic is a better program than xJournal. Certain applications and suchlike are harder to get to. I may be stupid and can't find it, but I sorely miss the "details" folder view that lists folders first, then files, and has the side preview panel.
On the other hand, of course, I'm not worrying about viruses, there's no fan noise, the screen is better, and cmd-tab makes sense.

Boring day summary

I went to class, I went to find 蔡老师 to explain Alexis' absence, I went to the RC001 and found out the ArtsCouncil money isn't in yet, and asked Heidi to resubmit it. Then I went to class. Then I bought a copy of Office for Macs (but the lady accidentally gave me two... hmm...), then went to an afternoon ... food... thing with Kim, then went to SMAC (oh shit, that's where I left my doggy bag), and then to Comickers, *almost* made it home with a borrowed copy of 1602, but alas, Ruomu got to it first. Then it's staffing the J-club screening. Someone's supposed to be here 5 minutes ago to take over, but alas, no such luck. Guess I'll have to wait for the movie's end.
Well, hey, in the meantime, I straightened the finances for JAS, wrote a "why we should be an RSO" for Thought Balloons, and looked at a grant thingy that'd hopefully give me $1000 for working at an unpaid internship this summer.
And I'm really really hungry. Stupid 2+ hour movie. I wonder how Alexis is doing at home.
