Spouse has been having trouble with blogging, so I'm challenging him to write 3 bullet points in 30 minutes every day.
So, hmm... 3 bullet points
- the childling got accepted into the school where I work at! This means that the commute and pickup/drop-off will be much easier come August, and I think overall it's a good school for her -- they're definitely more used to dealing with her particular learning profile than the local school would have. If she'd gotten into a different local school, or if we lived 4 blocks to the south (where the average price for a townhouse is $1.5 mil ahahahaha), or if she got into the bilingual school, or if the whole public/private school thing isn't so f-ed up, I might have decided differently, but as it is, I'm just glad that I get a tuition discount and it's a good fit for her.
- Spouse has been working on his anxiety issues and we talked today about how when he's feeling grumpy and catastrophizing and saying statements like "I no longer know how to be creative, I will never be creative again," I should reject the premise instead of either trying to reassure him or problem-solve for him.
- today was the beginning of a new term at school, so of course I'd forgotten everything, including which exit to get off of. Oops! Also, it feels *really weird* to be re-teaching the content that I taught 10 weeks ago. I'm... I'm used to a year-long cycle, where if I'm teaching x content, that means it's January. My brain's like "it's April! I should be teaching the Incas! Why am I talking about Genesis and the E and J sources?" Ugh this expedited quarter schedule is really not-great at the high school level.
And that's my 3 bullet points! It took me... hmm... 11 minutes. Maybe 30 minutes is too long and creates room for procrastination.. :thinky face:
