Jun. 10th, 2012 12:59 pmquick internet report. The following don't work directly:
- twitter
- facebook
- anything that requires twitface login to access (Matriarchy Game)
- blogger
- Netflix
- hulu
- TOR browser (but that might just by my computer)
It's been pretty relaxing thus far -- we had yummy 生煎包 for breakfast, and then 冷馄饨, and set up the kitchen so that we can make food in the future. Last night was a giant banquet, but we escaped early.
So now that I'm here, what are my plans for the summer? It's actually quite relaxing -- basically, instead of chilling in the Bay Area, I'm chilling in Shanghai. I only have 2 trips this summer -- the one to Georgia and Tanzania, and a weekend in Taipei/Kinmen. So the rest of the time is actually more relaxing than other summers!
Some ambitions:
- fix up china comics to make suitable for printing and bringing to APE
---> partially done: comics mostly fixed.
---> Still pending: 2-3 pages need re-scanning, new table of contents need to be scanned, some pages need new words (requires tablet), and all the writing blurbs need to be edited/re-written
- curriculum work -- Modern World History re-write, and laying out Asian Studies
---> half done: Laid out Asian Studies course and the topics that I want to cover, and made lesson plans for the first week of school. Still have to do MWH re-write.
- work with Jono on our start-up!
---> In process: Have the general layout of 1 game. Ready to work on next one(s)
- work on next comic, so that I can learn from it and move on.
---> In process: Finished first real draft. Now -- to do some character designs.
- work on Jianghu, so that I can finish it and move on.
- spend time on the banjo again (after... a year?!)
---> On-going: I've caught up to where I was a year ago. Next -- to learn the last song in the intro booklet, and then find more songs.
- learn php and database stuff -- start with the Chinese School database stuff
