Perfect Sunday morning, and misc
Aug. 30th, 2009 12:01 pmWe woke up at around 9am, shared our miscellaneous dreams, and then decided to check out the Farmer's Market that's on Castro every Sunday. We walked over, wandered around, snacked on a delicious scone and some samosas, bought lots of fresh vegetables and goodies, and then had 10:30am dimsum. After which it's 11:10 and the Boba place has opened, so we go and get boba, and then walk back, noshing on fresh black/strawberries and talking about silly things.
(For example, talking about the awesomeness of La Brea Tar Pits leads to talk about Dire Wolf Frat Boys, and Bone Cones, and deciding that La Brea Tar Pits should really have a sign that says "If you're stuck in tar, you're ours", or at least, "If you get stuck in the asphaltum, it's not our faultum!" And vultures may subscribe to Martha Stewart Living and try to create votive candle holders out of turtle skulls, which is why they've found a ton of turtle bones but no skull.)
In other news, Menlo has started school, and my students are adorable and responsible, which is the perfect combination. I spent yesterday up in Berkeley trying to glom together some of my misc friends and having yummy local/organic festival food (thai tea sweet potato popsicle!) and then petting Nigerian dwarf goats. Then in the evening I did some chaperoning duty at Menlo watching Cold Running.
Chinese School stuff is starting ... in 30 minutes, so off I go! Goodbye Sunday afternoons, but I hope to make the Sunday morning jaunts a regular thing. :)
