Jun. 25th, 2005 01:07 amSo... work seems to be working out. Pulling slides may sound sort of boring, but in fact I shall be partly deciding what visuals the fall Asia lecture series will be using. Gonna be working Mon-Thur, 10am to 2-3-ish, depending on good stopping points and whatnot. Of course, there's the 2-hour bus ride each way, but I nap, and doodle, and will soon find appropriate reading.
Joanne got here veeery late Wednesday night, Isaac left Thursday afternoon, and Thursday night we made dumplings. Today (Friday, that is), I slept in late (first time since Sunday. ^^;;), and then fixed a bit of Chinese school website, and then went and watched Batman Begins. Good Batman movie. Gotham looks incredible, Batman is hot and quite Batman-like in his ideology, Michael Caine (?) as Alfred improves the character, imho, and did I mention Liam Neeson? The plot is relatively solid, except for one flashback that I didn't know was a flashback until pretty late, and the usual comic-alternate-identity-that-everyone-knows-but-no-one-knows thing. The dialogue is decent... of the witty one-liner quality. Overall quite an enjoyable movie. And Batman gliding over the panicked crowd = <3
Oh, and then Clara (future roommate) and Daniel (Clara's boy who's currently a Cal grad) came and we ate tapas at Iberia. And then came home and watched Schindler's List.
