Yay! Livejournal woorks! It's scary how dependent I am on this medium of expression.

more pictures! http://home.uchicago.edu/~sushux/Chicago/?M=D

Some boring pictures of my dorm. Mostly of the bathroom and lounge. The alex-doodles is because I'm trying to encourage Chicago Alex to draw, so whenever he doodles on my board, I keep them. ^^;;

What else? Thank you everyone who asked me how I'm feeling. On a day-to-day basis, I couldn't be happier. As for the overall quarter slump.... I'm working (somewhat) to remedy that. Let's just say that I have great plans to be an ascetic hermit over the weekend. (haha, Nicky reference)

Add: why do random people want to attack LJ, anyway? Bitter b/c they don't have access code?

Here I am, sitting the the Reynold's club first floor lounge, with about half an hour of free time before me. And no handy Schmitt book to pull out and read. So now it's time to think about stuff. Sushu does some thinking )

Time for lunch!

exerpt from roomie's LJ: "but i was sitting here, alone, in my little dorm room, laughing" I'd like to point out that I was in the room as well. However, since my roommate has adopted the "let's pretend we're alone in the room" policy, Jean was indeed, alone in the room. (I think I annoy her when I talk to her or talk to people who come to visit her) And when we *do* talk to each other, it's like "we're standing in the hallway talking, you're trying to tell me you don't find me interesting."

We get along well. Especially since I am very alone in the room right now. (With my back facing her side of the room, I can ignore her presence very efficiently. I hardly hear the hair drier at all!) Hmm... I seem to have a slightly bitter tone. That is unintentional. We *do* get along. We're just both very selfish.

hrm hrm. Alan and I watched "Yin Xiong" (Hero) tonight with the Chinese grad students. Would you call it "historical fantasy?" Very GuLong-esque. Pretty decent. There's a nested flashback, and with Zhang Yimou doing the directing, you get all these over-saturated colors. Felt very Chinese-school, with the smart parents, the silly parents, and the little kids playing internet games outside...

La dee da...

A few things I learned from using syndication feeds:
1) Sometimes they don't work. That's when you find another one.
2) With patience, enough people would be using the feeds that you can add another one.
3) Friends page's post-per-page must be extended to catch everyone's posts on the first page. (especially when 20 of them are from feeds)
4) A lot of crap happens in the world. (bbcnewsworld feed). Every time I check, there'd be 10 more drastic events that happen.
5) Having Foxtrot on my friends list has been amusing to extremes.
6) It just frees up more time for mindless web-loitering
