Jan. 18th, 2003 09:33 pmThat was awesome. I'm so full that I can barely sit down. Curse my over-dedicated digestive system!
We had:
Lasagna (Tim)
Enchiladas (Chad)
Latkes (Jeremy)
Stir-fried tofu + rice (Avi+Laura)
Ice Cream Cake (Lily)
Bugles (roomie)
Pork wontons, vegetarian wontons, and stir-fried asparagus+chicken (me. duh)
I went to Chinatown today from 10am-1pm w/ Joanne. Bought $35 worth of groceries, and ate $12 worth of dim sums. Then stopped over at Co-op and bought $12 more of groceries. Yes, I'm exceedingly happy right now. (Even though that's a lot of money spent in one day) I have a new bamboo plant! Plus I've got all the materials to make shao mai for house snack nextnext Thursday. And I have leftover chicken and ground pork and asparagus. And Pocky!
In other words, I'm gonna have pretty good food for the next 2 weeks or so. I'm excited.
And now my roomie's playing Indian music! Eeee! (Even though she has good taste in music (Beatles, Simon + Garfunkel, Joanie Mitchell, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, etc. I like it. I assume it's what people call "good taste"), I still occasionally desire the non-vocal music.)
So yes, I wasted all day on food-related activities. But! It was a nice time-wasting. Very enjoyable. I haven't been able to cook for a long time. I love how Chinese food is so guess and check. ::sniffss pork:: It smells right, but still not the right consistency. ::adds water:: The pork wontons were good. The vegetable (spiniach, dried tofu, bamboo shoots) was a little too salty, and the stir-fry a little too greasy.

I don't know what I'd do without livejournal. Live, I guess. I've never kept a personal journal b/c that'd just be angst. And way less spontaneous and ... me.
