first day back at work, woo? It was mostly meetings and an afternoon activity session, so I got one revision graded. My goal for tomorrow is to get all of my 10th grade revisions graded and evals written, which will hopefully put me on track for the rest of the week (it's going to be mostly eval writing.) I might need to find some different off-campus locations for grading, though, especially if there's going to be students on campus. I have a really hard time doing grading while on campus. I think it's that I find it hard to turn off my "there are other people around who I might need to engage with" brain off. It's like, threat-analysis, and it impedes my ability to grade, lol. Hmm... maybe I can go to the library?

Anyways, it's been raining a lot, and driving home today was pretty exhausting -- heavy rain, winding highway, and I'm driving slower because I'm constantly worried about skidding when I hit a wet patch, ugh. The drive home took 1.5 hrs instead of 1, and by the end I was ... pretty done. Something to consider is whether it's worth it to ask Miss R to take the late shuttle back to my campus so that we can drive home the shorter way (30 min instead of 1 hr), at least during the rain days?

I should write about the taxi drivers in China before I forget, but it's also late. (We watched some of Free Guy while I drew comic, so I actually feel pretty productive...)

no rain today so the drives were good, yay!

the small library near my school is quiet, and I was able to spend a few hours there writing evals, yay!

got home pretty tired, so didn't do much of anything, boo

oh! I read a Murderbot tumblr post, which reminded me that I watched the Murderbot show on the airplane, and I really appreciate how well they covered all of the PresAux folks. So goofy but also genuine. Good job. It's really weird to see Murderbot played by a white guy, but enjoyed most of the other parts of it. I should really read more Murderbot, but I was kind of waiting to read it with spouse, but now the moment has passed. I'm also not great with narrative tension (heh I am too much like my child), and as I get older, I feel less inclined to push myself through things that I don't enjoy, unless there's other external motivators.

Oh hey, spouse got their ears pierced today! We're both super psyched. I ordered some earring loops and stuff so that we can make cute earrings! One of the great things about spouse is all the sensational things that ick me are things that delight him :3
