(no subject)

This has been a very wet winter, and as a result, we've had ... 3 days where school was closed due to rain -- once, there was a worry about landslides, once, there was a downed tree, and this time, there was a downed tree *and* no electricity. I... I guess it's better than the few years where we were just surrounded by fire??? And water is good for California in general, even if the massive dumping of rain and snow is too much too fast. And I guess we're basically stress-testing our various infrastructure systems as we learn to adapt to more severe weather. What I've learned is that PGE is in need of complete overhaul!

Anyway, my grading pace from last week has been completely lost from all the weirdness of this week -- the PD day on Monday, the early pickup on Tuesday, the late arrival on Wed, and then tomorrow, it's going to be early pickup again. Plus all of the spare at-school time is spent doing screener interviews for hiring another history teacher.

I've been pretty good about not bringing work home for the past 2 months, but I think I really need to do some grading, since midterm grades are due next Monday. But... I don't wanna, :/

Maybe tonight I'll grade 3 essays, reward myself with something, then grade 3 more...
