(no subject)

whelp, heading toward Tahoe tomorrow. I realized last night that I would need snow chains for my car, and also that since the whole point is to give Miss Rutabaga a chance to play in the snow, so today, in addition to going to the zoo, we also bought snow chains (which we then only somewhat installed -- we were fine until the part where we had to bungee the middle), and also snow boots and gloves for Miss Rutabaga. Still don't have a sled, but Spouse has informed me that the pauper's sled is a large flat sheet of cardboard, and we have that, just in case we can't find a sled along the way.

What I'm more worried about is driving our little Prius up through the snowy roads, where there seems to be a snowstorm happening. I was checking traffic and the roads to Tahoe were closed for 2-3 hours today. Miss Rutabaga basically can't deal with being in the car for >1 hour or so, so the 4 hour drive will be interesting enough without the potential traffic. So ... it might be that we drive until the road gets closed, and we turn around and find the nearest place for snow frolicking, and then drive home? Dunno.
