My oh-so-glorious life
Apr. 11th, 2006 07:34 pmThis is one of those boring "let me recount my life" entries, so skip/skim as you will.
Friday:
11:30: turned in BA
Noon: Lunch with BA Seminar friends
2:00: got home to discover INS hates me.
3:00-4:00: On hold with INS (Which is actually USCIS now, but whatever)
4:00-5:00: Power Blackout. Sushu naps.
5:00-8:00: Sushu cooks, buys booze, goes to Cat's, cooks with Cat, made lots of yummies: Pot-Stickerified Wontons, Stuffed Mushrooms, Asiago-Prosciutto Pizza
8:00-3:00am: Wined and dined with Jono, Aza, Satomi, C+J. Played Taboo. Drunken doodles on large pieces of butcher paper. Bought a watermelon. Did some dishes and chatted with der Cat. :)
Saturday:
10:30am: Woke up
12:00pm: Went back to sleep. :3
1:00-2:30: Fabric shopping (disastrous)
2:30-3:00: rounding up skit peoples
3:00-6:00: sewing
6:00-10:00: shopping, making of curry-rice, eating of curry-rice, cleaning of kitchen and washing of many dishes.
Somehow ended up getting home around 1am anyway. Oh yes, eating of watermelon. Lotsa lotsa watermelon. And watching of Emperor's New Groove. Twice. In a row.
Sunday:
10:30am: Woke up
All Day: Updated Chinese School website with pretty seals, then worked on the ucjas wiki to make it pretty and basically the website. (Go look!) Ambitions of future club member forum place.
7:30-10:00: Dinner with C+J, J, Satomi. Satomi made us lots of yummy food! Yay!
Monday:
9:20: woke up, having missed Japanese. Went back to sleep
10:00: woke up, started doing class readings.
1:00pm-5:30: Got a lock! went to class. Then another class. Then another frustrating class.
5:30-6:30: grabbed some soup for dinner, set up tables for Prospie Fair.
6:30-9:00: RSO Prospie Fair. Talked to cute prospies about how cool JAS is.
9:30-12:00: Went to Cat's to fetch hakama, ended up hangin' and watching sbemails and eating bagel bites
Tuesday:
8:00am: Woke up to Joanne's alarm! I <3 that woman.
8:30-9:30: Managed to not sound too much like I missed 2 days of Japanese.
9:30-10:30: tried Ariel in Anthy, looked at wigs online.
10:30-1:30: Went to visit Joanne, to find her with baby cry-a-thon. (no thongs involved. Was a human antenna for a bit, but). Lunched with Joanne and baby's mommy. (baby there, too, in spirit).
1:30-6:00: Walked to Ace, bought wire. Got downtown on 28, completely missed Roosevelt stop b/c it was called "Balboa". Walked around downtown lost for 30 minutes. Finally found Target, and found, after much travail, sandals. (Problem with the Roosevelt Target: ugly shoes. Shoes that would only look good if your skin was of dark complexion). Walked to fabric store, stopping in 2 expensive tailor places to oogle at their hats, and the finally getting ghetto-tastic hats for Luigi and Mario at the ghetto-tastic hat store next to Vogue. I <3 that place like I <3 the wig store in Hyde Park. Both run by random Japanese couples. Did fabric shopping in under an hour! Bought, like, 10 fabrickses, which will be sewing this Thurs. Vogue's weekday staff far more helpful. (ie, did not have blind old lady at the button counter). Came home by 8 Halsted and X55. <3 X55.
Tonight: shall be going out with Joanne and Clara to celebrate Joanne's well-deserved BA-finished-ness.
Pooped and spazzed out, but I guess doing good. Keepin' busy!
