Aug. 18th, 2003 09:31 amI should have updated last night, but I already spent over an hour reading LJ and checking email, and my conscience was starting to stir.
So anyway, busy busy days. After getting back on Thursday from Sequoia, And then I downloaded all the pictures I took in Sequoia, organized them, whatever. Oh, I also went to Fry's and bought some flash memory. So now wherever there's a USB port, I can just plug in my little dongle-like thing and access the 128 mb of files stored on it. Pretty nifty! Fry's is like the mecca of geeks. Except that they'd probably call it the source or mainframe or something geek-like. Anyway, minor trauma Friday night when my beloved camera fell into the toilet (don't ask), and we thought it was done for. So that night I watched the "comfort movies" that I got on a detour from Fry's. Phonebooth and When Harry Met Sally. Seeing the UChicago campus in the brief first minutes of the movie was traumatic. "I walk there everyday!!" "Bad, bad car on the quads!"
Saturday morning was spent organizing our house b/c a guest was coming. Saturday night was spent making a powerpoint presentation/lecture for Chinese School b/c mommy couldn't go. Sunday morning was more of the same. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. It covered both the history and the artistic highlights of the 3 Kingdoms and North/South dynasties period. In a pretty powerpoint presentation that had things that moved and appeared and flew around. But the kids didn't care too much. Next time I shall bring something to club them over the head with when they play cards and talk instead of listening to me. I HAVE KNOWLEDGE TO IMPART, dammit! So yeah, since mom will be in China the next three weeks with my brother, I shall have to sub for the next 3 weeks as well. ::shakes fist:: I shall teach them to respect me!! (Problem is that they're all apathetic high-schoolers.... =_=). I was so tired when I came home that I skipped dinner to do some sleeping. <^_^;
