how cool is this? I've watched the Spring Festival for the past hour and 20 minutes! Quite cool. I didn't get up early enough (or rather, I didn't figure out that the website is designed for IE) to catch any of the skits, but I saw the last xiang sheng and a bunch of cool songs. Chinese New Year rocks!

(but still not the same without family. ;_;. Especially when they're singing songs about being together with family.)

.... it seems as if the Winter gloom has set in. Is it a result of a natural inclination to hibernate in the cold, but not being allowed to because of this crazy-fast world, and so we're all bitter and depressed and apathetic?

I think I've reached the point where I have no motivation to do homework, and the lack of motivation doesn't even affect me. (Usually, it's "I feel so bad I'm procrastinating", but now it's "I don't wanna do work. ever. I want to eat lots of good Chinese food and sleep and read Julius Caesar.") And I've been spacing out (re: doodling) a lot more in class this week. Not good, not good.

But hey, they say that if you survive first-year Winter quarter (that's freshman year for you normal people), the rest of college can only be easier.

No wonder Chinese New Year is around this time of year. WE NEED THE HOLIDAY CHEER. This morning's song and dance made me happy all day. (although it's decreasing geometrically). HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR, everyone!

speaking of winter, what's with the WARMTH? I came here for hard core winter, not some random flurries that turn into rain! If I wanted RAIN I would have stayed in CA. So warm that I didn't even have to wear my scarf and mittens and my happy hat.
