Yay, got my classes registered.

And I tested out of 2 quarters of PE, so all I have to do is take an elective. not sure if I want to take it this quarter, though. Maybe next quarter, when I'm done with math. forever. Archery or Ballroom Dancing?

Have I mentioned how much I love the architecture of this campus? probably. But still, this is one of those days when I want to go out there and take photos. (I'd originally planned to, but since I've been out since 9:30 in the morning, I felt like resting here a bit before my next meeting at 4:30. only complaint is that my door keeps on shaking from other people slamming their doors... so that it sounds like my roommate is trying to come in..... oh, this time she *is* trying to come in.... gah.

Have visited Reg (the main library), and the Crear (the science library). Crear has the most awesome computer lab downstairs.... scanners, video capture, ps 7, and these cute little round booths that can seat 3-4 people around one comp (for group projects, y'know). And the Reg has way to many books. And it's not as pretty as the Berkeley library. It's kinda box-ish. Oh well, the facilities are nice enough, and I know my way around (from working in the Stanford ChemEng library...). Libraries are my friend.

Tonight there's a Chicago Life Meeting, an assembly-ish thing with upperclassmen talking about UChicago life, and then there's an official party from 9:30pm to 1am. (Which means it'll most likely be dry. And people shouldn't smoke. boo)

dammit, the closest place to watch Spirited Away is a 45 minute commute / bus->train->bus into the City. grar. Too bad didn't have time to watch it when it was in PA Square and I was in PA. Am not ready for trip into city currently...

I now understand the importance of the food pyramid and the lack of vegetables in a typical American diet. Well, the lack of good tasting, cooked vegetables. Finally getting used to raw vegetables, although still a little iffy about the spinach. Most of the food here is meat, plus a salad bar. Tonight there were some cooked broccoli which tasted awful. Definitely needed some soy sauce or hao you (marina sauce?). Only had salt. Boo. So yeah, I need to consume more vegetables in proportion to the vast amounts of meat I get everyday. And what's the obssession with turkey?

Oh, and what's the order of attack in regards to a meal? Right now I'm eating in whatever order is convenient. for example, lunch today was: fries, grilled sandwich, apple, salad, soup, vanilla ice cream, orange juice.
