WTF? Crazy OAV people!

Oh my god! Nooo! This isn't supposed to happen!

Spoilers:

(Taken from the SASSE list:)

"Kenshin dies in the second, and final part of SeisouHen. And the disease is apparently tuberculosis (consumption)."

Okay, time for a very distressed cry. NOOOOOOOO!

And now, allow me to state here:

WTF??!!!
Since when did consumption leave nasty wounds? And wasn't Kenshin happily riding back to Kaoru on Sano's big Mongolian horse?

And finally, the opinion of my esteemed brother, John:

@#$%^&*)(!
If Kenshin died riding home, that could have been because of an infected broken limb, like Cabrillo
did on San Miguel.

That's crazy. No offense, but that's a stupid way for Kenshin to die. After losing gallons of blood, avoiding death about ten million times, and saving the world, he dies from TB?

I read a book a while back called "The Samurai's Garden", and, like all books written by Americans about Japan or Japanese-Americans, it took place during WWII (do they ever write about anything else? It's as if all of Japanese history was condensed into World War II). Anyway, it was about this boy who went to live in a town that happened to have a leper colony. ::shrug:: Go figure.

How was Kaoru to know, in those last fatal days, that a force stronger than love and darker than jealous, would come to claim Kenshin?

Kenshin: Oh.. these silly hakama.. they're too tight de gozaru... ::coughs and wheezes into a delicate lace hankie::

Oh yeah, and Okita Souji died from TB. ::pets Okita, who coughs up blood:: o.o;
