(no subject)

Okay... since Catherine was the brave one...
I get to be the wimpy follower. Go me!

I haven't read a lot of extracirricular books in the past few years, but I'll try my best...

(I'll keep a count so people know when I add to the list.)

- Les Mis
- Pastwatch
(pretty much anything by Orson Scott Card, except I haven't read many)
- Clan of the Cave Bear
(the rest of the books are kinda... eh. But the first one was pretty good, imho)
- Siddhartha
- Proud Man
(my Women Writer OSR)
.... to be continued?

See why I'm asking for suggestions? I know what books to look for if I want to read Chinese. Well, at least I know what sort of subjects and what counts as good books, but I have much less experience with Western books. (Especially since my parents seem to have a sort of aversion to non-classical American books)

(Fav. Movies)
- Forest Gump
duh.
- Titanic
Yeah yeah. Well, it's really Titanic minus the love and romance. The disaster scene, the period details, the *real* props... back in the days of humbler special effects. There's a reason they won best pic but not best actor/actress.
- Lord of the Rings
Suitable for both Tolkien and non-Tolkien fans out there. If only the Harry Potter movies can be made so well. The pace is fast enough, but with most of the major plot points to keep the non-Tolkien fans awake and interested, and the detail to language and setting and behaviors to keep the Tolkien fans from cursing.

Isn't it obvious that I need to watch more movies? ::sigh::

Both of these lists are quite pathetic. I'll try to add to them this summer!

Does anyone want to start a Fav. Music list?

Okay, my "lists" are in the form of comments to you. Whatever. ^^;;
Good Movies:
1)"Moulin Rouge" (yay!)
2) "Titan AE" (pretty, pretty art; give or take the plot)
3) "Gladiator" (so very cool)
4) "American Beauty" (my favorite movie ever)
5) "Good Will Hunting" (an "inspirational" (kind of) story that's really *good*, not sappy)
6) Walt Disney's: "Sleeping Beauty", "Robin Hood", and "Sword in the Stone"
7) "A League of Their Own" (about women's baseball in the 40s-- weirdly captivating)
8) "Amelie" (you'll need to read the subtitles, but it's really fun, quirky, and hilarious)

I like movies. ^^;;

Go rent it~! It is the most awesome French movie I have ever seen (and very funny). ^^ I just finished watching it myself, actually. (The guy who plays Nino is hot.^^)
