Ladies and Gentlemen: I have dresses! Yay! Went shopping today and bought 2 dresses in 40 minutes. Awfully fun. I can really get used to shopping in China--bargainable prices, excellent personal service, sizes that *fit*... Also got goose-down coat for Chicago and a decent swimsuit. Go me!
And with all my happy spare time, I went stationery store shopping. God, I can stay there for hours... so anyway, got a bigger sketchbook than th 5x8 one that I brought with me, and got a few pens. It's quite fun doing freehand with a black gel. Totally kills proportions and everything else, but lots of fun nonetheless. Oh, and I still can't draw the extremities. Maybe it's a matter of shading?
Let's see... on Saturday we drove to ths little waterside town with like a bridge every 3 yards and lots of boats in the river. Like Venice, but in China. Very cool. Got a bamboo flute that I can actually play! (Yesterday, Monday night, our whole family sat down on the bed and sang songs. Very hard on the ears but very fun)
On Sunday, I visited my aunt twice-removed. Her daughter showed me these videos of the humanized version of that thing that Catherine used to like... the one about the schoolgirl and these bullies, the F4...? Meteor Garden or something. Anyway, there's actually a music group called the F4, so they made this tv-series type thing. Very funny. We were 5 minutes into Seisou Hen ep 2 when we had to leave. (Did I mention she is major RK nut? Her entire room is plastered in RK posters....)
Last thing: World Cup: Of the 4-1 matches, every team I support loses. Senegal was especially sad, they were so good! (that amazing save... the ball was past the goalie and 6 inches from the goal when this defense player threw himself forward from behind, and kicked the ball out!) They just lack Turkey's team work, and I think they were pretty tired by the end... didn't switch a single player in the entire game (plus the extra time)! America put up a hard fight with Germany, but they lacked a forward that can really get the ball into the goal. (They actually shot one in, but it didn't count. Hand ball, too). I did't actually see the Korea-Spain, but I really wanted Spain to win, and their goal was discounted, which was sort of .. um...) And I was rooting for England, although it was kinda obvious in the second half that Brazil would win. So yeah. World Cup lots of fun. Yay!
