My brother has entered the "Experiments" age, which is why there is a bottle of "silt experiment" on the bathroom sink.
Daddy was so cute today when he shuffled over and presented me with a Jamba Juice thermos thingy, saying that it would be very useful in college. So now I have a thermos in my college prep box.
But anyway, its such a relief to have finally decided. Now I know what I have to work on by mid-September, which is a good feeling.
Hmmm... haven't written in a while. Looks like I've got a lot to cover! Mwahahaha!
Well, this weekend -- Friday's anti-prom got cancelled b/c everyone was busy, so I stayed at home and wrote a nice long email to Science Olympiad. ::stamps self with "nerd!" sign::
Saturday morning I commuted to Fanime. Yay VTA! $3 and 2 hours gets me a round trip. Saturday afternoon, I slept, and did some math, and watched Armageddon on TV. And this person actually won $53,000 on Wheel of Fortune, which is quite amazing.
Sunday, I woke up, did some math, rested for a while read a ff (bad Sushu, bad!), then went to school and did math review. So now I'm here.
Anyway, I'm gonna talk about Fanime/Anime now, so most of you (such as Mommy) won't be interested. So here's a little lj-cut...
Fanime was lots of fun. Well, for the first 2 hours, there wasn't much action... no one is apparently awake at 8 in the morning. Except Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. ::eeps:: She was selling lots of cool prints! And then at 10 the BAAU people came, so of course I had to get their comic compilation, "BAAU Down!" I had lots of fun talking to the different people. There was this guy who was critiquing someone's comic, so it was quite enlightening to loiter around and listen. Of course, I met Tochi, peeked into her sketchbook (it's hard to believe, the the comic looks even better on paper!), and bought a print. Oh, and at aroudn 9, I saw Karen and Jeanne cosplaying as "Karen and Jeanne in pajamas". ^^;; As I said, too early in the morning. Now that I've been watching Cowboy Bebop, I actually recognize more characters that are showcased. Very cool! Now I just have to watch Eva and X and I'll be able to recognize 85% of the anime floating around...
Okay, a very biased opinion/ed thing:
Ugh, there's this article in the fanimecon magazine that was talking about why DBZ is the best anime ever, and one of the reasons cited was because you get massive destruction by a gigantic being without dealing with internal comments of pilots and random spousing of philosophy. Um... hel-lo! That's the best part! The pilots give depth to the giant mecha of doooom! Who would rather see a giant ape stomp around smashing mountains? Oh, I forgot, the same people who like the globular boobs and enormous hips in anime. ugh ugh ugh. Of the entire artists' alley, I saw about 4 artists who draws decent boobage. Okay, maybe more than that, but there were also a bunch who draw boobs that are thicker than the waist. bleh.
