Day 2 of sending Miss Rutabaga back to preschool from 9:30am-4:30pm! It's kind of crazy, having some hours where I can space out or do work. Yesterday I got an oil change and then went to the grocery store without feeling guilty about abandoning the child to my husband! :D!!!
Right now we're just sending her back on Mon/Tues/Fri, and having her at home on Wed/Thur and Sat/Sun. Maybe when school actually starts for me we'll do all week, but for the time being, this is a good way for me and Hoosband to both have some time, without her being utterly bored at school. (They, um... sort of play? But in a socially distant way? Their class is 8 students, and I think Circle Time everyone is at least 6 ft away, as is lunch time, craft time, and nap time. Of course for Rutabaga, it's a lot more fun to be at home, but I think it's good for her to get some structure and just to interact with some people who are not us.
I drew a pic last night that I'm pretty happy about. :) Usually I don't bother with backgrounds/atmospherics, but I did some for this one and it definitely made it pop. (It's on AO3). I think this weekly drawing thing has made me better at drawing hands, at least.
Errands:
- print out Amazon return slip, drop thing off at Kohl's
- go to Target for underwear
Chinese School:
-make a decision about Schoology
-payroll
- write checks
-process and deposit checks
- corporate taxes are due 9/15 -- I always forget
- make PPTs for next semester's lessons
Start of School stuff:
-one-on-one meeting tomorrow
- figure out 1st semester flow for 10th grade
Creative stuff to get done before school starts:
- finalize Rutabaga book 3 (draw cover, do layout, draw 1 or 2 final comics)
- draw art for Cat's book and some dead doves for T
- smol comics about voting or climate change or whatever????
- do some Doctor Companion work so that we can actually playtest it some time
(School starts in 2 weeks!!!)

A smol comic about voting could be made into a postcard to send to encourage voters, I think...
