(It is really annoying that "across history" in this country means "across Europe from Classical Greece till now, with some bits from the English-speaking Americas from 1700 onwards")
I need to find the Babylonian tablet I had pasted a photocopy of into one of my teenage diaries. It was from 1800 BCE and was a letter from a father to a son listing All The Usual. "I hate your hair, I hate your friends, you need to go to school....."
