Yo, head's up for anyone who's planning a summer gumi road trip around California ::coughNicolecough::, my family will be in China from June 13th to July 15th.

On a side note, Taiwanese soap operas are horrible. Yuck.

On another side note, I finally got the free c++ compiler to work. Yay! I can finally catch up in class. (nasty doubly-linked lists. gah)

Hmm... since I started writing... might as well keep on doing so. Today's topic, ladies and gentlemen, is porn versus erotica. Oops, wait, did I say the "p" word? I didn't mean that. Hmm... dammit, this is the point that I'm trying to illustrate, the fact that I blush just saying "porn," but then am able to read yaoi-ish stuff to no end. Maybe I shouldn't be writing this, because I have no idea of what I'm talking about, and I do not for an instant represent the female population as a whole. Or anyone else, for that matter...

(oh well, that's what lj-cut is for. Purely my opinion, not anyone else's)

Are males and females stimulated differently? Most of the porn viewers are probably guys (I run after seeing a banner for one) On the other hand, they aren't as interested in the words as girls are. Do we look for more character development, while guys look for more action? Is it because erotica appeals to a more emotional level, while porn is more physical? Okay, me not talk anymore. Is bad for me health. ::ducks tomatoes:: Especially about things I know nothing about.

conejita's opinion ^^v

physical appeal: ok I think women find beautiful men just as appealing as men find women, however, in our society, even tho it's superficially looked down upon it's expected that guys want to see naked women, women don't have that issue, women aren't supposed to see a guy's penis and get all horny, they are supposed to blush or whatever. now you go look at doujinshi and one might ask if women's shyness is a social contruct. But then it's ok to see a clothed or topless guy and think how hot he is.. as for my chief resource for male opinion (thor) his definition of porn is any picture of a pretty girl that makes him horny, many of which are quite innocent, so there's something other than nudity that guys like..
character/story: I think this has to do with biological influences, personally when there's a guy that I like in a story >without pics< it's not because I physically get horny so much as I want to cuddle that character happily. Guys look for in a "story" a girl that is horny, it's much easier to just do that in a picture than in a story. has to do with women looking for men who will provide for them and men looking for as many women to mate with as possible being biological devices methinks, if women got horny whenever they saw a horny guy.. well that would be a problem.. so I guess when I look at a horny guy, I'm more disgusted than pleased
I think I just contradicted myself somewhere here damn ah well need sleep ^^;
