Kenshin OAV II-2
Okay, it finally finished downloading, and OH MY GOD.
::hyperventiliates::
Okay, so this is as much of Jinchuu as we'll see. I think they cover the island part pretty well. The Six Companions stuff are gone, non-existant. We just do the second half, with Enishi first being all mean and totally beating up Kenshin, and when he goes in for the final strike (no Wu Heishin here, either), Kaoru jumps in front and Enishi does the whole "Ahh! Nee-san!" thing. Enishi doesn't look half bad. Maybe a little too buff and macho, but hey, spiffy watou! And Enishi punching Kenshin in the face is so.... ugh. Use your sword, dammit!
There's also a spiffy Yahiko vs. Kenji scene, which I think is totally wrong conceptually, but hey, it's katana vs. sakaba, while Hiko's standing around making some wise-cracks. Maybe something about finally passing on HMR...? Kenji moves hella fast. Yahiko looks too young. But he's cute, so no complaints there.
And now for the reason I was totally shocked and spoiled:
KENSHIN LIVES. He gets saved by SANO. And they race back across the mainland on Sano's MONGOLIAN HORSE. (Sano, btw, is a total hottie in the OAVs. The mature raggedy look suits him well)
On the other hand, Megumi has returned and manages to save Kaoru from depression. Go Megumi! Go Sano! ::cheers:: She's such a strong character. ::admires::
Oh, and Kenshin *finally* comes to terms with himself, and settles down to peace and quiet w/ Kaoru. Sheesh, thanks for dragging everything out an extra 15 years, OAV people!
So of course, it looks promising, w/ lots of action and pretty art. Hope they skip most of the K/K angst and give more screen time to the other characters. Also hope that Kenji's mentality is further explained. But anyways, the 3-minute trailer reveals *a lot*.
