Me, communicating with an artist who I’d never seen: Hey, since the target audience are Chinese-American kids, can you make the illustrations of facial features and body parts Chinese-looking?
Artist: what do you mean? How do I make them Chinese?
Me: ... eyes should be dark brown? Hair should be black and straight? (Like ... I want to look at these pictures and see people like me, and not some white dude with brown hair.)
Me, skyping with artist: .... (oh, you’re a white dude with brown hair.)
