Okay, up through #38, pyrite, otherwise known as fool's gold. But chalcopyrite is very similar. So how come chalcopyrite isn't dummy's gold or something?
Anyway, daily rant.
If there's a job that I definitely don't want, it's being a journalist. How do they come up with these titles and stuff? I mean, if it's just research, it wouldn't be so bad, but then the writing involved... There's this random Palo Alto Daily (okay, so not a very high standard here) with this article titled, "Half Moon Bay lottery winner plans to fire himself." Now what kind of title is that? How can they make something like the lottery sound bizzare and corny at the same time? If I were the journalist, my title would be something like "Half Moon Bay guy won the lottery! Yay!" Then the article takes so much circumlocution to get to the pertinent facts. (you actually have to flip to p.33). My article would have been, "this man is one of the three to win the California Superlotto of $193 million. He gets $69 million before taxes. Yay for him! Since he's a self-employed engineer, he's planning on dropping his work and going on a cruise! No, I won't tell you his name because there's sickos out there ready to kidnap him." Okay, so that's why I would never be an author or journalist.
