I saw Moulin Rouge today! The imagery/cinematography was great, and the music and choreography, the whole "movie about a show" (the conductor-bald dude and Toulouse singing the opening and ending) and ... everything! Just such a cool movie. (The storyline was a little too fast-paced and random near the end, but still self-supporting) But I think it scared my parents (they were the ones who actually proposed seeing it. I was warning them, "this is probably gonna be more visually intense than 007, and you won't get half of the cultural/musical references", but my dad kept on repeating what the Chinese movie reviewer said on the radio, "Shi ge 're nao pian'", not quite what he expected. heh heh). Dad told me that McGregor was supposed to be Jack in Titanic. Instead we got sissy Leonardo. He would have been so much better! (Re: he can actually *act*)
