New Year's Resolutions 2014
I'm a few days late, but it's Resolution time!
First, grading my 2013 Resolutions!
HEALTH
- Eat healthy and walk a lot so that I can get into a healthy BMI range
A-: I'm in healthy BMI range!! But on lazy days when there's no one around the house I basically survive on bananas and salami (::cough::today::cough::)
- Get regular periods and also: take the next step in the pregnancy path -- go talk to a proper Western Doctor
B: I've found a Western Doctor that I like, and I ... kinda?? have more regular periods. I also got pregnant twice! So I think that's definitely the "next step".
- Don't take on so much work there's no downtime. Monthly stress meltdowns is not the way to go.
A-: though the summer was less relaxing/productive than I'd hoped, I think I am doing a good job at school of taking a break. Not taking my BBT every day has also dramatically reduced stress.
STASIS
- Draw at least Part 1 of Squanto Comic and finish Jianghu one way or another
A-: I didn't do any Jianghu work, but I'm done with the Prologue of Tisquantum and about a third of the way through Chapter 1. Yay!
- Do something new and different with existing skills (sewing, comics, etc).
????: I... don't know what I meant here.
- Read more widely. (Not read more, since that usually doesn't happen, but surely I can replace some of my existing reading with better reading.)
meh: I think I read slightly more last year than the year before. At least I'm usually more caught up on Chinese current events, etc.
Overall health grade: 89/100
Overall stasis grade: questionable/100
And now, my Resolutions for 2014!
Help Jono find his path. Jono's had a hard couple of years, but he's getting close to finding his direction (for the next few years at least).
Come to terms with the whole pregnancy thing. Stay healthy. Come April, my flying moratorium will be lifted, and I'm going to go back to my normal life. I feel like I've given this whole pregnancy 1 year in the coveted "5 things I juggle" group. After this it's going to the back burner again. Hopefully, though, I can do so without abandoning all the gains I've made this past year.
Transition into a more stable role in my family business. This year is going to be a year of major shifts -- my parents are retiring/transitioning to different roles in the business. We are also going to start development on some new curricular support stuff. My brother is graduating college (!!!) in June. Hopefully we'll be able to weather the transition in a good way.
Level Up Tisquantum: I hope to finish the current chapter this year. And maybe, if I create enough of a buffer, I can have a weekly update schedule? (Is that even something people want???)
Don't sabotage myself. I do this all the time -- I get to be friends with someone at work, and then in moments of self-doubt, I let that slip away. I'm eating healthy for a week, then I spend 2 days in a haze of salami.
