Brief update
I spent Saturday and Sunday mostly resting, and feel a bit better. Playing solitaire (my improvised metric for focus/mental processing) is easier now, but doing something while some show is playing in the background (my metric for multitasking/external input processing) is still difficult. I was hoping for a full recovery by Sunday, but that's clearly not the case. I'll be going in to see a doctor tomorrow morning.
I guess I can continue the full-day resting regimen, but (a) I'm feeling well enough that it's driving me to utter boredom, and (b) I feel like I'm hitting diminishing returns -- solitaire isn't getting easier.
So I think these upcoming weeks I'll be:
1) in a partial media blackout: online stuff only as necessary (no more than 1 hour each day, hopefully), no netflix, no radio. Consuming media only when I'm not doing anything else.
2) not driving as much as humanly possible.
3) doing single tasks for 1-2 hours, and then resting for at least 1 hr afterwards.
Also, thank you for all the well-wishes. I read all my emails, but responding often takes more mental energy than I have at a given moment, so I apologize if you didn't get a response from me. It's rough that my primary mode of doing things is the computer, and it's the one that gives me the most headaches! :(
