Monday!
Yay, went to another wedding this weekend. It was a little bit awkward at first, since I really didn't know anyone, but I forced myself to either be helpful with logistics or obnoxiously social with the other people who didn't know anyone else, and so it mostly worked out. Got to wear the dress from Cat's wedding (with some added halter-top straps) since the bride wanted "cornflower blue dresses of different styles", so... dress re-use win! It's really cool how different my friends' weddings are ... thus far I've experienced:
- Christian wedding in a garden + generic catered reception.
- Presbyterian church wedding with unity candles + Chinese restaurant reception + 80s music dancing
- Evangelical (?) wedding with lots of serious singing + Grad student reception + swing dancing
- Outside garden wedding under a tree + sandwich/tea party reception with a Mad Hatter theme, and the favors are actually the tea-cups
- Chinese banquet wedding with games and competitions between themed tables
- A wedding with handfasting, unity candles, opening and closing of directions by a pagan priestess, held in a Masonic Lodge.
One thing that's been fun is seeing the table centerpieces and the favors
- each table's centerpiece as a collection of photos of the bride and groom at the age that is the table number
- each table's centerpiece as a different hobby of the bride/groom
- each table's centerpiece as a small self-sustaining aquarium with live plants
Anyway, home now, and tomorrow is a day off!
To Do:
- Get oil change for car
- Browse discount fabrics at fabric store (purse fabric, lining fabric for kanga dresses, etc)
- buy movie tickets for later that afternoon
- Chinese School stuff
- Lunch, then work on Mand1 stuff: Lesson 4 Test, then Lesson 5 and 6 content
- 3:30: Watch new 007 movie with parents, then dinner
- After dinner: more school work. Tidy up house??
