Propositions

First, wanted to say, woo! Obama. (Actually, haven't been worried since July, so ... yeah)

Secondly, Propositions and stuff!

YAY:
- Prop 30 passed! That means that the California people are more competant at figuring out budget stuff than the legislature. It also means our public schools get to keep running.
- Prop 36 passed! That means that the 3 strikes law is less dumb now, and we can decrease the prison population.
- Prop 39 passed! Clean Energy: 1, Business Tax Loophole: 0

BOO:
- Prop 34 didn't pass. Sorry, death penalty dudes -- the government still has to spend money killing you, whether you deserve it or not.
- Prop 35 passed. Sorry, registered sex offenders current and future: you will have to turn over your internet identity stuff to the police so that they can check your facebook and WoW.
- Measure B in LA passed. Sorry, porn industry testing services.

Washington: (Which I care about due to my strange fondness for Seattle)
- Hey, good job on marriage equality and legalizing marijuana. Sorry about the 2/3 legislature vote required to pass budget. (See our prop 30 as an example of what might happen.)

Marriage Equality:
- Hey, how come this wasn't on California's ballot this year? Lame. We might have been celebrating with Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington!

Actually, the Prop 35 problem is that prostitutes also get labelled sex offenders. You know, even if you were the one being trafficked.

And the money from fines goes directly to supporting the police, so it's not like there's a giant conflict of interest in them busting people...
