Today's coding has been more fruitful. I got a lot of changes done -- the essay system works enough to use (now the right assignments and essays are loading), and the gradebook as well (I added some javascript and changed the way grades are saved and calculated). Yay!
One thing that came up is that I really need to figure out how the print to PDF things work, and printing in general. Right now the gradebook printing is broken and the essay printing is non-existent. Looking at existing code for it has been super-confusing, though. I think I need to dedicate another day to this...?
