Reading about the Mughals is making me have so many "feels" about Babur, Akbar, and Aurangzeb. Babur, the romantic, with his pining for Samarkand and getting India as the "consolation prize". Akbar -- so dyslexic that he never learned to read, but oh so clever about running the empire. Aurangzeb is like Stannis from Song of Ice and Fire: a hardass, but a genuine hardass. And of course, all the succession wars, and Shah Jahan whiling away his final years imprisoned in his own fort.
