About to leave for Georgia and Tanzania
My flight is at 10:45pm, so I'm heading out at 7-ish -- the transit should take about a hour and a half.
I don't feel like there's been a lot to pack, since I've already packed for Tanzania when I was packing for China. So it was mostly just putting stuff back into the backpack. I'm not bringing my laptop, tablet, or drawing box, so it's actually a lot lighter. Tanzania is mostly set -- as in, we know where we want to be on which days, and where we will be staying, and who to talk to to arrange the day-to-day activities. Joanne is in Georgia, so I think if I can find my way to her apartment, the rest should be okay. Plus I have a 6 hour layover in Istanbul -- I'll see if the airport have any eggplant and lamb. The rest of the time can be spent reading up about Georgia.
The last 10 days in China have been very relaxing -- I don't feel like I'm traveling at all. It's like having a staycation, except that we're staying in Shanghai. Outside on our block (and thus within a 3 minute walk), we have: 9 breakfast stalls, 3 convenience stores, 1 farmer's market, a small department store, 3 haircut places, and a stationery store. So it's not like we're lacking any everyday item. (I talked about this in this China Comic) So it's been very relaxing and very productive. If you go back to this entry that I posted: http://summercomfort.dreamwidth.org/575189.html , you can see that I've been making steady progress on many of my summer goals.
For the last 3 days I have been primarily working on Rapunzel -- 1 day for drafts 5 and 6 of the outline, and 1 day for the more specific breakdown, and yesterday I made character and setting designs and drew a whole page of the Rapunzel comic. I think if I work on nothing else after I get back from Tanzania, I'd be able to finish it. But then again, I do have other goals to work on. So... I'm not sure what I want to do. I might also pick a simpler art style so that I can get more done. ... All things to think about after my return.
