Good Day

First we had Taiko class. Then we did assisting for 2 other taiko classes, so we were taiko-ing from 11am to 4:30pm. Intense, tiring, but fun!

Then there were yummy noms with Chris.

Then we sat down and brainstormed for our next PTA game, which Jono will be GM-ing for. It's gonna be an 80s anime sci-fi space opera! I'm pretty excited about all the different flavor we've come up with --
The mechs are powered by different energy crystals, which can then be combined to form cooler mechs so that we can fight the new alien menace that has ships shaped like spirals. We are all after these energy crystal resources, and there's a strong mining/rocks theme going on.

I am the Red character from America, and Chris is the Blue character from the Soviet Union. We'll also have a Green Sikh character, a Purple Japanese girl, and a Yellow Brazilian girl.

I'm Ken Smith, who pilots Garnet Gunslinger, which is a mech that was developed from fighter jets, and I grew up on an American military base on a Japanese space colony. The American mothership is the USS Liberty. I plan to be saying many lines in katakana English, like "Rettsu Go!" and "Raajyaa", and I'll be eating lots of potato chips. (Survival Chips! Comes in all types of flavors! Has all the nutrients you could ever need!)

Chris is Dmitri Romanov, who pilots the Lazuli Lancer, which is developed from Soviet Tanks. He's on the Cosmo Battle Platform Lenin, and might be feeling pressure from his Commissar to do some sketchy spy stuff.

On the drive home, Jono decided that he needs to write the opening song to this anime. It will start with some sort of deep voice narration full of "Uchuu" 宇宙 (universe) and "Ginga Zensen" 銀河前線 (Milky Way Galaxy Frontlines). Then the drumbeats are going to start as each character is introduced with their gemstone -- "Garnet!" "Lazuli!" "Amethyst!" "Citrine!" "Emerald!" And then together, "Let's Rock!" Followed by some righteous rocking music.

... or something.

Anyways, pretty rockin' times are ahead!

That sounds pretty delightful. I look forward to hearing about the OP this winter break. Speaking of which, we're totally gonna play some RPGs over that visit, yes?

OMG. That sounds like everything G-Gundam wanted to be and failed at. All the 80's hair gel and none of the suck.

We just finished Irresponsible Captain Tylor and I'm starting Kent on Avatar. :D
