Dreams

I had a dream last night where I went to Fry's to return a USB flash drive, and then I was walking around and found a shoe section, which then lead to this complete side wing of Fry's that was dedicated to helping the community -- there was an archive room, a conference/seminar room, a big food court with reasonably priced food for hang-outs, etc. (I got some free nachos with cheese and salsa). The seminar was called "My First Seminar", but the subtitle was very academic and hard to parse, involving race and structural diffusion or something that didn't make sense. It turned out one of my friends was giving the talk, and later he told me how embarrassed that he had such a lame title that no one showed up to his talk, and I was like, "Yeah, there are probably titles better than 'My First Seminar.'"

And then we went to visit my co-worker because it was her birthday, except that in addition to working at Menlo, she also worked at this big finance company, so we followed her there. To get in the building you had to put your bags through this small separate door and then walk through the big door. She told me that she always wears her button-down shirt and pants combo because the bosses at this big finance company are all a bit chauvinistic. But then another of our friends shows up and gives her a pretty dress and insists that she dresses up for her birthday party. She ends up wearing the top of the dress and tucking the bottom on her pants, but still the boss started ogling and not taking her seriously. So I yelled at the boss and scolded him for ogling, and that we're not here to just be something to rate and comment on. Then I started ogling and commenting on his warts and round chin and saying things like, "Oh, gosh, look at those pimples! And that soft, round chin! So amazingly horrible!" And then he was like, "Your breasts are quite the treat to look at, but your attitude is horrible. I'm going to have to ask you to leave," and he calls security on me.
