The Ring Cycle
Well, since I lost my wedding ring on my trip (swimming in the Mediterranean off of Antalya), I'm looking for someone to make another ring for me. I feel bad hassling the original ring-maker -- she has moved onto much fancier jewelry. To make matters worse, Etsy no longer has its Alchemy thing, which means that I can't just post my request. I found a couple of people and sent them notes, but it's slow going on etsy.
So I looked up some local jewelers and called/visited them today.
One place doesn't do custom jewelry.
Another place insisted on an appointment, set for Friday.
Another place quoted $185.
Another place quoted $350.
Yikes! The original bid on Etsy was $100 for 2 rings, and there were even people bidding $80 for 2 rings! So I'm gonna try poking around on Etsy a bit more, and also go to that appointment.
That'll teach me to swim with my ring on...

If you want to still read friends' LJ stuff, you can add their LJ journals as feeds.
