Okay, so who's still alive?
- Vriska: definite
- Aradia: most likely
- Kanaya, Gamzee, Sollux: uncertain
- John, Dave, Jade: yes
- Rose: temporarily?

Rose's dream self is still alive, so she's got an extra life under her belt. Aradia's god tier, so her death needs to be meaningful (which I'm guess at least means not off-screen.)

There's something fishy going on, though, since karkat and terezi's deaths seem to contradict what we know about the timeline already. There's some waitin' and seein' to do.

My guess is that Doc Scratch's hint is the dead bodies (and blood mingling) of Karkat and Terezi are similar to the dead bodies of John and Rose, both of whom we know are probably coming back, so we might conclude that so will Karkat and Terezi. Also we know Gamzee is still alive at the Critical Moment, so what is up with this "Jack destroyed the troll's hiding spot"? Is the Critical Moment the moment Jack finds the trolls? The timing seems off, but maybe?

Terezi's opinion -- what she said she had seen in her m1nd's 3y3 -- was that Jack would follow Vriska's trail to the asteroid and, quote, "k1ll us 4ll." But we have reason to doubt that Terezi knows what she's talking about, since she has no idea which trolls are already dead or who's responsible. She probably saw that Jack would destroy the asteroid and assumed that the deaths of all the trolls would be a consequence. Doc Scratch, on the other hand, knows what he's talking about but is being evasive; he says that Jack "destroyed their hideout," but doesn't specify who died. Since Aradia and Sollux both have escape routes I can think of, and Kanaya and Gamzee have new and unexplored superpowers, it's reasonable to guess that we're being played, and in fact, I would so guess. :)

But Vriska, I think, is about to die for real.

Which makes Karkat worry about John's sloppy makeouts with her all the more confusing.

Wasn't that all in the past? Karkat had some grand, half-baked scheme where the kids and the trolls would meet, and was worrying about sloppy makeouts, and then trolls started killing each other? It seems unlikely that makeouts would be the greatest of his worries at any point after shit started getting real.

We never really see anyone develop or come up with the plan or is it even ever hinted at in any of their actions -- before Gamzee goes berserk, it seems like Karkat doesn't really have any ideas other than trolling the kids. Nor do we see the conversation where Karkat tells John the scratch is the only hope.

That all squares with my reading of the current timeline. I am, of course, especially curious about what happened to Sollux! I suspect strongly that we're not done with him yet; he should get to do something now that he's an official blind prophet. Likewise, Kanaya, Gamzee, and Aradia have too many outstanding plot threads to die without further ceremony. If they're dead, they're in for flashbacks first.
