Baaack!

I'm back from Fresno/Yosemite. Okay, long recount of my trip. Don't read if you're bored already. ^_^;;;
Let's see, spent 2 days in Fresno, basically surfing channels, floating in the pool, scaring my brother, and eating way too much pound cake. Oh yea, we went to the zoo, and it was really cool. They had a reptile center and Bengal tigers and Asian Elephants and a Bird Show (a condor! African Crowned Cranes! Did you know that the eagle owl is actually extremely stupid?). And they treat the animals nicer than at the SF zoo and whatnot. Oh, did I mention all the cool lizards and lemurs from Madagascar? Also went to an art museum that is tiny, had 2 exhibits, horribly boring. Oh, also went to my mom's friend's house to learn how to saddle and ride a horse. terribly exciting. Horse legs aren't as skinny as I expected.

Friday morning we headed for Yosemite, and covered all the basics: Mariposa Grove and Yosemite Valley. The falls were gorgeous. My previous experience with falls are the Niagras when I was 7, so, yeah, this is pretty eye-opening. Spent the night just outside of Yosemite (El Portal, pop. 639), in a hotel room facing the Merced River. Best of all is the jacuzzi and the KITCHEN in the room. Dad and I went to buy some rice and soysauce and eggs and salt and we actually cooked a decent Chinese meal! yay! Oh, I also drank from all the clear water we came upon-- South Merced, pool off of Bridalveil, unknown stream, pool off of Lower Yosemite... lots of fun. I think Lower Yosemite was the best-- enough minerals for sweet taste, but clear and cold and not pasty. Yum.

Okay, that's it for now.
