Keepin' Busy...

Some observations on time:

- Lesson Planning and teaching take up most of the weekday from 8am to 5pm, leaving little time for grading.
- Grading only happens when I allocate 1 hour for it and then do half-hour chunks.
- Grading never happens at the following times: 1-4pm, 9-11pm.
- The time it takes driving to and from Taiko is equivalent to the time spent drumming. But it's totally worth it.
- Chinese School on Sunday takes from 9:30am - 4:30pm.
- If I can allocate an extra 2 hours of Chinese School time per week, I would be able to get most of the backlog of stuff done.
- Going to the parent's house means at least half an hour spent getting the family/business update.

So I think grading only works when I specifically use free periods during the day, and push lesson-planning to later in the afternoon/evening.

Chinese School stuff would probably work best if I allocate a specific evening instead of swinging by on the way home for a half-hour (what I currently do).

So yeah, I've been pretty busy this month with start-of-Chinese-School work, like figuring out all the salary raises, inputting new teachers into the system, and doing year-end accounting for the previous school year. It's like a whole week of full-time work that I've been squeezing into evenings and weekends, particularly when Jono isn't around. I think next year I'll aim to do that stuff in August, BEFORE regular school starts...

Things I want to do:
- Work on Jianghu -- I have lots of ideas that I need to write down/work out
- Fix the Chinese School database
- Learn the Banjo
- Show Jono lots of martial arts films
- Draw comic again (yeah, that thing. It's been a while...)
- Take Japanese lessons with my cousin
- Explore the free yoga classes that my school offers (alas, it's during prime lesson-planning time)
- Hang out with friends

Show Jono lots of martial arts films

Maybe on non-game weekends you guys can swing over to my place after Taiko and we'll watch a movie here or there. I figure also might be a good idea to pick out selected episodes of Seven Swords of Mt. Heaven as well.

Sometimes I think you are a little bit of a superhero.

I'm gonna go a week from tomorrow. I'll let you know how the long-ass drive and family reunion go!

Where are you taiko-ing? Is it the SF dojo?

Oooooo, I should get in on that. I miss taiko but couldn't really see myself doing night sessions in SF or whatever. Not that I really looked into it at all. Can (relative) beginners start at anytime?
