Stupid Thief

Stole my passport sometime between walking around 前门 yesterday and 西直门 today. DDD:

I made an appointment for Monday 8:30am with the Embassy. I'll go to the police to make a report tomorrow. My biggest concern is that they need a "proof of citizenship". Hopefully my parents can find it and scan it and email it to me?

This has been truly a honeymoon of misadventures.

I still need to figure out the plane ticket thing.

Oh no! I'm so sorry!

Why do they need a proof of citizenship? Isn't the reason you go to the Embassy the fact that you've lost your proof of citizenship?

They need proof that you had citizenship to begin with. So some random non-citizen with an driver's license can't walk in and be like, "yo, I lost my passport"
