Art update!

Now that I (a) don't work full time at more than one job, and (b) have a b/f who finally has time to draw comics, I've finally started my "China Stories" comics. There's only 2 so far, but I've got lotsa ideas for more!

The mission statement for my China Comics:
1) Tell a story about a personal experience in China
2) Must illustrate an aspect of China not often seen in Western media
3) Tell the story in 1 page

I'm collecting stories! So if you have China anecdotes, comment, or write me an email!

Anyway, here's one about milk:

I've also put them up at http://www.sushux.net/comics/

Also! I updated the doodles section of my (still wip) website: http://www.sushux.net/gallery.php (which actually just links back to [livejournal.com profile] sushusketches

Man, do I ever love your style. You know that, but still. And if you and Jono dating leads to a mutual increase in artistic productivity, then a big fucking Mazel Tov to that. May you have lots of deeply worrying children.

Yay, China comics!

Milk cartons are more popular in Taiwan, but they still have the extra-creamy thing going on. I used to have chocolate milk there once or twice a week as a treat, and then got really sad when I came back to the US and the chocolate milk had all sorts of weird thickeners and corn syrup in it.

Also, much love for the hot water bottles. My host family in Taiwan and all my coworkers in Shanghai kept teasing me for wanting to drink cold water.

I should email you some of my China anecdotes! Do Taiwan ones count? Is that a politically loaded question? ^_^

My host family always used hot water from bottles to make tea with. Of course, they also weren't big tea drinkers, so that could be a horrible faux-paux.

Can I send you China stories?

Love the (gaudy). What Chinese thing ever escapes that fate?

Can you do one about how crossing the street in China is like playing Frogger? I resorted to surreptitiously ducking behind whichever relative I'm walking with so they'd face the traffic first.

I like your drawing style! Unfortunately I don't have any stories to tell about China, but I'm looking forward to seeing more.

^^ neato! I love these stories, even though I would never be able to enjoy milk from China due to lactose intolerance (curses!!!).

:) Keep it up! I'd love to read more. *hugs to you, Jono, Cat, and Jeremy*
