Life...
I'm watching a depressing movie about a Chinese village kid trying to get money to go to college called 阿妹的诺言.
Some some updates on life:
I just finished my first week of teaching. The kids are adorable and very sweet. I still need to plan out the next Imperialism/Industrialization unit, but I like teaching there. Plus, there's free lunch! I feel good about this teaching gig. I would teach 2 hours a day, and then spend about 2-4 at the school doing lesson planning and grading. After that, I'd go home and work at Chinese school for a couple of hours, and then spend the evening with Jono, do some more lesson planning, etc.
Thursday was the first rain of the winter. After the first joy of "yay, fresh rain smell!" now I'm like "urgh, it's wet outside." When driving home from San Jose this afternoon in the rain, my car hit another puddle and it was like February except that I didn't spin out this time. I guess I am not as over that experience as I thought.
It turns out that my blah-ness from Monday signaled the onset of my semi-annual massive period. Jono was so worried he was looking up the dangers of menorrhagia, but it's about done with, so that's good. Mom, on the other hand, was all excited and even went to buy special medicine to "encourage" it. Um, yes.
Very excited about the election!
