urgh?
Well, since my last update,
- I called DCP, my next-year-job, and basically said, "I'm going to miss all of orientation because of Olympics and it'll be really hard for me to catch up, so I am rescinding the job". And instead I'm going to spend next year working for Chinese school, b/c I'm sick and tired of having 2 very stressful lives, and hopefully with one year working on Chinese school and sorting through curriculum, the year after I can have two minorly stressful lives.
- Found a new roommate for next year, and figured out that in order to live comfortably in my apartment, all I need to do is make an hourly wage of $13.75 and work 40 hours a week, which is reasonable-sounding.
- I just finished all of my grading! In, like, ever! Or something. I've been increasingly short with my students. I'm not sure if I'm cut out for all the angst of the teacher
- I just found out that I'm in fact *not* going to China on July 20th, but in fact August 5th, and my parents are like, "do you want to consider not going?" And I'm like.... y'know, if this happened a week earlier, I wouldn't have rescinded my job and I would be at a cool school next year.
But I guess the current plan would be to Stay the Course. Can't really call DCP back and be like, "um, the Olympics wimped out on me, so, um... I do have time in the summer now?"
And look for part-time, possibly.

Yay for Sushu!
Which is to say, I think this is probably a good decision.
But I'm a slacker.
