OMG, http://www.freerice.com is so addictive... It's one of those "I must figure out what this word means so that I can give people rice!" My level is around 40 or 41 out of 50, with highest being 44.

ETA: a grain of rice is ~ 25mg. So 1000 grains (50 guesses) is 25g = 1/20 of a lb. So 1 lb takes 1000 guesses. 5 of those make your typical 5 lb bag of rice. So it takes 5,000 words to donate 5 lbs, which is max $10.
Hmm.... Maybe there's better ways to end world hunger?
Especially since some of the words are pretty arcane or snooty
