(no subject)

almost done with week 1. Kids were especially rowdy today. After some thought, feeling more confident in next step of discipline. Also, Roommate was very helpful and had not only an iBook, but also firewire and knowledge of disk-mounting (aka "zombie computer" process). So now my standard lappy is up and running! I still have to install a ton of programs, move all my crucial files back from her lappy, and find music again (as in, dig up all of the random mix cds people have given me over the years, which is really the crux of my "music collection"). But it's nice to be able to type on a full-sized keyboard again. On a lappy that stays on the lap. And has a screen that kills my eyes at a slower pace. :D My guess is that by Sunday this will return to being my standard lappy. <3

Tomorrow is the end of the week, and I have a dinner date with Cat.

Some to-dos over the weekend:
- lesson planning for next week
- sort US History standards into units
- decorate room with pretty posters
- grade lotsa stuff
- admin stuff: figure out a grade book system. Sort receipts. Figure out technology setup.

After I get my paycheck next week...
- pay off bills! ^^;;
- buy pretty things for the house. As well as functional things.

I don't know if Nicole got in touch with you, but we were thinking of trying to meet downtown Saturday afternoon to see a film @ Stanford theater, and maybe grabbing a bite to eat before or after. Think you might be able to make it?

Hmm... the movie's at 5:35. Is that going to fall right in the middle of dinner con la familia...?

Regardless of whether you can make it to the film, we should try to meet up beforehand. Would meeting downtown around 4 work for you? (Feel free to email: firstname.lastname at gmail dot com, or call my home or cell, neither of which has changed).
