Still in Shanghai
It's been... what, 5 days? Since the end of the program. I've put up some photos on Facebook (have in fact been facebooking like mad, commenting on others' photos, adding the Shanghai friends, etc etc.) I've visited family, got very drunk, and drew a picture for
benlehman. I've gone suit-shopping with my cousin (2400 rmb for a suit! Although it's an awfully nice suit). I've gotten irrationally frustrated at someone on the internets for little reason.
But mostly, I've slacked off.
I feel like these few days have been like a limbo period between rest and work. As in, work is coming up, so the rest isn't very restful. But I'm not actually *doing* work.
Anyways, tomorrow I go on a 20 hour train ride to Qingdao (Tsingtao for the beer folks) with Angel, the sister that I adopted during the program. We will be riding over on the "hard seat" variety, but flying back, so I guess getting both ends of the travel treatment. There will be ocean and mountains at Qingdao. I expect to have fun in the traditional vacation sense. :)
And, because I am not drunk, I shall conclude with a small to-do list
- write 1500-word essay about the forum (in Chinese or in English?)
- draw pictures for daddy
- do lesson-planning for work
- finish website thingie

Train riding in China is fun, especially if you have company. I'm not sure about 20 hours on hard seat, but that's partly because I can't sleep sitting up like you can. Have fun in Qingdao!
