Drunk

Well, back from the program, and have finally managed to fix wireless, which means that internet is once again available.

I've been drinking a lot with my uncle. Finding my alcohol limit, in a way.

The bottles here are 600 ml, which I count as 2 drinks.

So yesterday, I drank 2 bottles (4 drinks). and then another drink of red wine. So 5 drinks.

Today, it's 2 drinks of red wine plus 1 bottle of beer, which is 4 drinks. However, I feel much drunker today than yesterday. Looks like I need to start on the lighter beers and then move onto the heavier drinks. Heavier drinks have less affect if I start drinking them after I'm two drinks in. These are good things to know.

The program was glorious. I had lots of fun, even with being generally anti-social. I think I made some good friends, perhaps more than expected. Anyways, I've also seemed to have claimed a sister. We will go to Qingdao together. It shall be fun. I've also found a China travel buddy for future travels. :D. There was a lot of drinking and revelry, but also a lot of serious discussion of differences and similarities between us. All in all, a good time. I wish that there were a few more days to the program, though. It was 8 full days and two wibbly bits at the beginning and the end. 到最后大家都有些依依不舍。Alas. What's good is that I know if I come back in the future, there are friends here, and not just relatives. <3

The next step is to plot the trip to Qingdao (Tsingtao, where the beer is from), and also start thinking about teachy stuff for when I come back.

In the meantime, I'm kinda drunk. As in, wobbly all over the place and spelling like a drunken person. And chugging water like a madman. If said madman were really thirsty or drunk.

This is ... dangerous. Remember the old adage "beer before clear, drinker beware. Clear before beer, nothing to fear."

Basically, you feel alchohol less the more of it you have in your system, but the amount that poisons you is the same, so it can be really easy to drink yourself sick on (say) Baiju after a couple of beers.

That said, I totally do this alot.

I hope you have more fun in Qingdao than I did! I was depressed and just had a breakup, so that should be pretty easy.

P.S. Did you get my e-mail? Even if you can't do art, a native Chinese speaker's view would be appreciated.
