1) My ibook just suffered the same problem as this person. Which, judging from the conversation, means I need to be in a place where there are other iBooks and the OS 10.4 disc, and then back up everything. And then completely reformat. I don't know what happened since my brother was using the computer at the time, and according to him, Firefox froze, so he tried to find the Mac version of ctrl-alt-del (but failed to), and so he just restarted with the power button. ::sigh::

So I sacrificed un-jetlagging to try to fix the darn thing, but obviously that didn't work.

2) I miss LJ. It's ridiculous, but it's true. Especially since someone just commented to someone else's comment about how to properly translate the concept of "land of 10,000 kings" into proper classical Chinese, which is something that has been rolling about my head for the last few weeks. It's because there isn't a direct translation for "land", and then you have to structure the syntax correctly when appending the verb "travels".... and these thoughts are horribly exciting things to debate...

But these are all petty concerns. I'm very glad that I brought two laptops on this journey, and sleep will make everything seem less dramatic.
