So, this morning got up at 7 and headed over to SAT proctoring. There, I read a chapter for Special Needs. It was a chapter on focus and attention control. After about an hour or so, I found it hard to focus on it. So then I drew a picture. And I cleaned my desk. Yay! I really like SAT proctoring days.

After I got home around 1:30, I had yummy dumplings that my mom made (it's all about making lotsa wontons and then freezing them, man). Then I broke out the fabric and the sewing machine and started on the Azuma Kazuma jacket. By the time Jeremy showed up around 5:30, it was almost looking like a jacket! What I have left to do:
- trim the sleeves and sew them into real sleeves (right now they're just flaps)
- add a mandarin collar
- add trim to the bottom and the collar
- decide if I want real buttons/button-holes. If yes, practice making button holes. If no, get a zipper somewhere. Part of me wants to be "hard core" and make it with real button-holes, etc. But another part of me is saying "You'll never wear this in real life, just get a zipper." Then again, button holes are kinda fun to make... But then again, zippers have less chance of "popping"... hmm...
- trim the sides

And for the rest of the "costume", I'd need:
- pink hair band
- white scarf thing
- red converse

Anyways, after Jeremy showed up, we went and grabbed some dinner, and then headed to watch Spiderman 3. The reviews have been 2/3s "Lots of fun and they managed to tie all the loose ends together!" and 1/3 "brain-dead summer flick with too many loose ends." After watching it, I'd side with the former. A good blend of hokey and drama. (zomg vengeance = bad choice.) And the thing is, Spiderman is supposed to be slightly hokey anyway. The villains were cool, and everything came together at the end in a nice climax that got the theater clapping. A couple of random deus ex machinas, though. (And Venom's webbing strength is conveniently variable.) Most hilarious was the Many Faces of Peter, including Smug Peter, Angry Peter, and Emo Peter. And of course, the usual Dopey Peter. There's also the special Dopey Emo Peter. Also, yay James Franco being decent and stuff!
And, um... pulling a LotR:RotK with the multiple endings? Um, less of that, please. (Psst, you clap after the 3rd one) Oh, and also: hand-held camera style action in the first hour? Less of that, too.
Jeremy commented that most of the previews we saw were sequels of sequels: Shrek 3, Pirates 3, HP 5, Bourne 3... I really want to see Pirates 3 with Joanne, since that's so totally her BA. (pirates->first international law)

Came home to the usual. Feeling guilty and helpless for leaving parents to their work.

Yo no spoilers!!! DX

I always found zippers harder than buttons..tho if it doesn't have to be 100% perfect it's still faster. Though if it's just for costuming, couldn't you just use velcro? XD

You guys are being all productive and stuff....good luck!!!

I think button holes are easy and fun, actually. It's sewing on the buttons that makes me frustrated with its boringness. But if you have extra hands around who can't actually sew, they can probably still help sew on buttons. XD
